SPICA reveals teaser for “Painkiller”


B2M Entertainment‘s five member girl group SPICA had a successful round of promotions with their formal debut “Russian Roulette“. Now, they’re set to release their repackaged mini-album, “Painkiller” on March 29th, 2012.
Earlier today, B2M Entertainment’s official YouTube channel released a teaser video for “Painkiller”. Check out the girls chanting “Killer” in the teaser below!

SPICA reveals making-of video for “Russian Roulette”


Girl group SPICA blew the industry away with their debut music video for “Russian Roulette“, and now they’ve just unveiled the making-of video for the MV.
In the video, the girls introduce themselves individually, before giving way to footage of themselves dancing on set and posing seductively for the camera.

SPICA unveils the full MV for “Russian Roulette”


Girl group SPICA have finally launched their debut by releasing the music video for “Russian Roulette“!
SPICA quickly became one of this year’s most highly-anticipated rookies, as they decided not to adopt the usual girl group formula of aegyo combined with electronic pop music. Instead, the girls have delivered a powerful song that truly lets their vocal colors shine, along with a video that’s provocative yet fresh.



If you want to recognize the girls:

First to shoot: Boa (red hair), she used to be the vocal coach for INFINITE.

Second to shoot: Narae (blonde), she was a top 10 contestant on Super Star K1.

Third to shoot: Jiwon, she was in What's Up as well as an ex member of Five Girls & T-ara.

Fourth to shoot: Bohyung (hair up), former JYP/YG trainee, was supposed to be in 2ne1.

Death shoot: Joohyun (long black hair), was featured in Young Saeng's Let it Go single.

SPICA reveals MV teaser for “Russian Roulette”

New girl group SPICA have just revealed the MV teaser for their new song, “Russian Roulette“.
The girls released a prologue single back in January called “Potently” and blew everyone away with the power and color in their voice.
SPICA will be making their official debut on February 8th with their first mini-album, ‘Russian Roulette‘. If this MV teaser is any indication of what they’ll be bringing to the table, it looks like they won’t be holding anything back.

New and Upcoming Idols That Will Make 2012 Shine


2011 saw a wave of new groups debuting and making their move in the industry, and it seems like 2012 will be the same as well. Here is an overview of some of the most anticipated artists of 2012.

1. SM Entertainment’s EXO-K and EXO-M

SM Entertainment, home to some of K-Pop’s most iconic idols, will debut EXO, a boy group that will be split into two units to promote in both South Korea and China simultaneously. The two groups will debut on the same day, same time, and with the same song in both countries.
SM Entertainment has released several teasers showcasing some of the members’ talents starting from December 23, 2011. Currently only 7 out of the 12 members have been unveiled, starting from Kai, Lu Han, Tao, Chen, Se Hun, Lay and most recently, Xiou Min.
Four members of EXO have already impressed fans by making a short but powerful appearance at the SBS Gayo Daejun on December 29th.
Although SM hasn’t released an official date for the two groups’ debut, EXO is expected to make their official entry into the industry no later than early February.

2. TS Entertainment’s B.A.P.

B.A.P. is a six member boy group formed by TS Entertainment. Prior to their debut, members Bang Yong Guk and maknae Zelo already made some bold moves in the industry, with the former having made a successful solo debut with single “I Remember” (featuring B2ST member Yo-Seob), while the latter is a part of a sub-unit with Bang Yong Guk called “Bang & Zelo”.
With the group’s debut track “Warrior” already receiving critical acclaim, B.A.P. is expected to become one of the biggest rookie artists of 2012.
Currently, B.A.P. is planning on holding a debut showcase on the 28th

3. B2M Entertainment’s SPICA

5 member girl group SPICA is notable for having some high-profile members such as Yang Ji Won, who was supposed to debut in a girl group along with Wonder GirlsYubin, After School’s UEE, Secret’s Jun Hyo Sung and G.NA. Other members of SPICA are Park Na Reh, who was one of the Top 10 contestants on Super Star K-1, Kim Boa who is known for her impressive vocals, Park Joo Hyun and Kim Bo Hyung.
The group has released a music video for their debut single “Intensely” which features acting by fellow labelmate Lee Hyori. The song has been well received by fans alike for its fresh and new sound.
SPICA will be making their live broadcasting debut on February 9th at a taping of Mnet’s M! Countdown.

4. Pledis Entertainment’s NU’EST

Formerly known as “After School Boys”, 5 member boy band NU’EST is the latest project from Pledis Entertainment.
The names of the members are JR, Minhyun, Aaron, Ren, and Baekho. Minhyun is known to possess strong vocals and dancing skills, and Ren carries a androgynous charm.
NU’EST takes its name from a combination of the words Nu (new), Establish, Style and Tempo, meaning that the group will set new trends and styles not only in fashion, but in their music. The group is set to debut this March.

SPICA member Kim Bo Hyung was preparing to debut as a member of 2NE1


SPICA, produced by singer Lee Hyori‘s entertainment label is receiving some new attention, as it has recently been revealed that member Kim Bo Hyung was previously a YG Entertainment trainee preparing to debut as a member of 2NE1.
Kim Bo Hyung is the lead vocal of SPICA, and the singer trained with the 2NE1 members under YG Entertainment for 2 long years. During an interview conducted with SportsKorea on January 31st, Kim Bo Hyung remarked, “I trained with the four 2NE1 members, however after 2NE1 made their debut as a 4-member group, CEO Yang Hyun Suk introduced me to this new label and I eventually became a member of SPICA.”
Kim Bo Hyung has not revealed this information to the public until now. She did not want the public to misunderstand that she was using this information as a way of promoting her new group. But as she made her official debut with SPICA, the news naturally spread.
I learned a lot from YG Entertainment,” she said. “They taught me everything from A-Z. When I look at past videos of myself as a YG trainee, I can see where I was lacking. I want to develop those areas and become a more mature musician as a member of SPICA.”
Singer Lee Hyori herself has participated in producing SPICA, offering her advice and ideas regarding album jacket designs, stage ensembles, and more. Also in the group is ‘Super Star K‘ contestant Park Narae, and member Yang Jiwon, who was previously in a different girl group. The other two members are Kim Boa who possesses extreme vocal talent and Park Ju Hyun, a previous model who has filmed a number of CFs.

SPICA is spending their Lunar New Year in the rehearsal room


New girl group SPICA will be spending their Lunar New Year in rehearsal sessions for their debut.
SPICA’s agency, B2M Entertainment, told Star News that “The SPICA members will be going home on January 21st and 22nd for the holiday weekend, but will return soon after for their dance and singing rehearsals on Lunar New Year’s day [the 23rd] and on the 24th.
The agency continued, “The debut day is coming fast and the members are practicing harder than ever.
SPICA will release their debut album on February 8th, and are scheduled to make their television debut the next day through Mnet’s ‘M! Countdown’. All five of the members are prepared to sacrifice their holiday for the sake of a successful debut.
SPICA is comprised of talented members who have different backgrounds in the entertainment business. Yang Ji Won was a former member of 5Girls along with G.NA, After School’s UEE, Wonder GirlsYubin, and SECRET‘s Hyosung.
Park Na Rae was a contestant in 2009’s ‘Superstar K1’ who has made it up all the way to the top ten. Kim Boa has been part of the chorus line for many girl group’s hit songs, and has been given the nickname ‘the female K.Will’. Additionally, many are looking forward to the seeing the skills of members Park Joo Hyun and Kim Bo Hyung.
On January 10th, SPICA released their music video for “Potently” featuring labelmate Lee Hyori. The cameo of a high profile star and the members’ interesting backgrounds helped garner a huge wave of public interest in the girls.

SPICA’s Kim Boa was INFINITE’s former vocal trainer


It has been revealed that rookie group SPICA‘s member Kim Boa was INFINITE‘s former vocal trainer.
A Youtube video posted on December 15, 2010 has been recently drawing attention as it showcases Kim Boa’s sweet vocals while she sings a duet with Sunggyu from INFINITE.
It’s no surprise that the top sexy star Lee Hyori herself is supporting SPICA seeing that Kim Boa, the lead vocalist, has such a great voice.

SPICA reveals MV for “Potently”


SPICA has launched their debut with the release of their very first music video!
The video is for their digital song, “Intensely“, and it features a cameo from agency labelmate Lee Hyori. The group is comprised of members Yang JiwonPark Narae, Kim Boa, Park Joo Hyun, and Kim Bo Hyung, who all possess strong vocals with a distinctively rich color.

Lee Hyori to feature in SPICA’s new MV


Singer Lee Hyori will be featuring SPICA‘s new MV.
Hyori’s agency B2M Entertainment is releasing a new girl group SPICA, and Hyori is featuring in their “Intensely” MV to show her support.
The singer will be revealing her sexier side for the first time in a long while, wearing heavy eye makeup and dark lipstick.
B2M Entertainment remarked, “Hyori showed her interest in SPICA even before she decided to feature in their MV. She came to their photo shoots and offered her advice and helped them prepare for their debut in a lot of different ways. She even came up with ideas for their profile photo and album jacket cover concepts.”
The “Intensely” MV was directed by director Kim Chul from director Cha Eun Tek‘s division, and is scheduled to be released via B2M’s official Youtube channel as well as various music sites on the 10th.

Hyori’s label to debut new girl group ‘SPICA’


Lee Hyori‘s agency has revealed that they will be debuting their very own girl group!
This month, B2M Entertainment will be debuting a five member girl group named ‘SPICA‘. Comprised of Yang Jiwon, Park Narae, Kim Boa, Park Joo Hyun, and Kim Bo Hyung, the girls all received the help of their senior, Lee Hyori.
As previously revealed, Yang Jiwon was a member of ‘Five Girls‘, a girl group that included Wonder Girls‘ Yubin, After School‘s UEE, G.NA and SECRET‘s Hyosung.
A representative revealed, “All five members of SPICA have gone through extensive training before forming this group. They have musical talent in not only singing and dancing, but writing and composing. They’re a team that can handle a variety of genres.”
Before their official debut, the girls will be releasing a music video for a slow tempo song titled “Potently“.
